Here’s to celebrating dads, grandpas and father figures. Whether you’re attending a local baseball game or watching the Barenaked Ladies perform, there are many ways to spend Father’s Day bonding with dad. Plan a special day out with the family at one of these top Father’s Day events.

01. Dads Love Tractors

Bring dad to a Father’s Day Tractor Show at Hardwick Winery, with tractor pulls, a parade, hot dogs, and petting zoo. Tractor pulls will be happening all day Sunday with live music by Green Sisters. The patio will be open and wine will be on sale! Oh, and if dad happens to have a tractor – tell him he can bring it along!

What better way to treat your father than to dinner and a show? Come to the Father’s Day Drover’s Roast at Salem Cross Inn, on Sunday, June 18th and enjoy 1700’s American trailside feast and events on this special day. Festivities begin at 1:00pm and feasting begins at 2:30pm. The Drover’s Roast is an advanced ticket only event.

Dads can mini-golf for free on Father’s Day at West End Creamery. Be sure to let him win on June 18th and make dad proud! Ice cream and mini golf sounds like a great way to spend some family time with dad.

Surrounded by a 150-acre orchard, Rapscallion Brewery occupies an historic red cider barn nestled in the center of Massachusetts. Enjoy beers by flight, pint or pitcher in the tap room or lounge and maybe catch a free tour, weekly live music or one of the seasonal festivals. Bring your own food or have pizza delivered, either way, dad will be happy to spend a day on the patio with a cold brew.

The Spartan Race is the world’s best obstacle race, providing racers of all levels a proving ground to test themselves. This year’s event will be held at Treasure Valley Scout Reservation and will be held on Father’s Day. Let dad prove he is part Spartan and register him in the most epic race of the year. Celebrate Father’s Day two days early at Worcester’s city hall as the New England Patriots Super Bowl LI trophy makes a cameo appearance. Patriot fans will have the opportunity to pose beside the Patriots’ fifth Lombardi Trophy on Friday, June 16th alongside the mascot and cheerleaders between 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

Is Dad the adventurous type? Then head to Purgatory Chasm State Park in Sutton Mass for climbing on rocks, squeezing through crevices and maybe even caving (if you dare!) Surrounded by hiking trails, and with grills on site, you can make a day of it with the family (and the dog.) Later, head over to West End Creamery a few minutes away where dads golf for free! 

13. Have a BBQ and Hike at Douglas State Forest

No reservations required for this fun day at a local state park! Douglas State Forest has a ton of great warm weather activities to craft a perfect Father's Day on the cheap. Here are some ideas: Walk the Cedar Swamp Trail on a meandering wooden walkway through a bog; check out the 2.2 mile Coffeehouse Trail Loop (easy and flat walk through pine forests and over foot bridges;) bring the burgers to have a cookout on the beach (plenty of picnic tables and grills available;) bring the boat, lawn games, and your bathing suit! Just don't forget Dad! $10 per vehicle or free with a state pass.
