Summer is about laying out on the fresh cut grass and enjoying the sounds of the bustling streets and the sights of the diverse festivals. In central Massachusetts, cultural and artistic festivals are what we look forward to and while we host them throughout the year, nothing beats a summer day at a vibrant festival. We have a line-up of the city’s must-attend summer events, so there’s no excuse not to attend.

Strawberry Shortcake Festival 

June 21, 2018 

The 63rd Dudley Grange Strawberry Strawberry Festival serves up strawberry shortcakes made with fresh strawberries, home style biscuits and real freshly whipped cream. The traditional Frog Jumping Contest will be held and there will be games, live music and food for the whol family. +discover


Make Music Day

June 21, 2018  

Make Music Worcester is an annual free, city-wide, outdoor celebration of music held on the summer solstice, June 21. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. Cars of Summer Festival 

June 29 - July 1, 2018 

Green Hill Park is home to over 100 antique and muscle cars during Fourth of July weekend. Harboring a group of local car enthusiasts, the Cars of Summer event is a staple of Worcester’s Independence Day celebrations. Between the cars, family-fun activities like monster truck rides, and on-site eateries, spending the weekend on Green Hill Park with the Cars of Summer is a no-brainer. +discover


'Woochella' Worcester Music & Art Festival

July 14 - July 15, 2018 

If you missed Coachella this year, don't fret - Woochella takes place on three floors on the outdoor patio at the historic Bull Mansion in Worcester and will feature a seven hour music festival with DJs, live performers, dancers and artists. +discover


Worcester Caribbean American Festival

August 26, 2018

The Worcester Caribbean American Festival is the most vibrant and live festival of the summer. Starting with a parade at the center of downtown – at the Worcester Commons – and ending at Institute Park, the event is filled with street performances, epic authentic Caribbean costumes and an array of local vendors. +discover
