About The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts

The Hanover Theatre continues to draw over 196,000 patrons annually with world-class performances and headlining acts including Broadway hits (“Bright Star”, “Something Rotten”, “Kinky Boots”, “Les Misérables,” “Jersey Boys”), comedians (Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Jay Leno, Daniel Tosh), musical acts (Neil Young, Aretha Franklin, John Legend, Tony Bennett and Donny Osmond) and everything in between (“A Christmas Carol,” Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Alton Brown). POLLSTAR consistently ranks The Hanover Theatre as one of the Top Theatres in the World. After eight seasons, the award-winning, historic theatre continues to establish its place as a world-class performing arts venue, acting as a catalyst for the economic development of downtown Worcester and is the centerpiece for the newly established Theatre District. The Hanover Theatre’s acquisition of 551 Main Street houses new function space, offices, rental space for a restaurant on the ground floor and The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts on the lower level.

Worcester Center for Performing Arts, a registered not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, owns and operates The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts and Conservatory. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

CONFERENCE & MEETING SPACE
Now there is a way to combine the best of both worlds here in the heart of New England, where old-world charm meets state-of-the-art technology to entertain and engage 40 to 2,300 people. The Hanover Theatre Event Center includes two brand-new unique event rooms accommodating groups from 40-250. The catering kitchen supports these function rooms with easy access from the theater’s upper lobby. The Historic Lobby offers stunning historic chandeliers, antique mirrors, our grand staircase and a beautifully crafted granite bar. This space easily accommodates up to 150 guests. The Grand Promenade overlooks the historic lobby and is a larger function space with accents reminiscent of the 1920s. With high ceilings and large chandeliers, the promenade provides elegant grandeur for any occasion. Appropriate for seated functions with up to 200 or receptions with up to 300 guests. The Hanover Theatre Stage is our most creative space with the best view of the theatre. Let the 17 crystal chandeliers, including the famous seven-foot grand chandelier, provide the light for your event on center stage. The stage is appropriate for groups of up to 300. The theater seats approximately 2,300 people in the audience, which is perfect for large corporate presentations and trade shows.
