Bringing Old School Back! Joe Demers, proud owner of Joe’s Albums, found himself reconnecting with vinyl records after a career shift back during the recession. It started back in 2010 with a few purchases here, a few trades there, and a simple website, ‘JoesAlbums.com.’ As his collection grew, so did peoples’ interest in the classic records he was selling. Meanwhile, his basement he was working out of seemed to be shrinking!

Two years after the launch of his website, he took the jump to open a brick and mortar store located on Pleasant Street in Worcester. Offering vinyl records, books, memorabilia and record players to his customers. With inventory that’s constantly changing, it includes a fresh mix of new and old records that cover from the 1950’s to today!

Continuing to find success at his physical location and online, Joe was juggling the idea of continuing working in the corporate world or fully devoting himself to Joe’s Albums. So, he realistically set aside the money he expected he would need and years later, he has found himself working solely for the record store, feeling he is right where he is supposed to be. And his customers couldn’t agree more!

The success led to the big move to Main St. in September of 2016. Demers was looking for a place to rent that was up-and-coming and in an area with high foot traffic. Plus, the new location is surrounded by multiple music venues, such as the DCU Center, Mechanics Hall, and the Palladium. He knew this was the perfect spot to watch his record store continue to thrive!

Demers over the years has seen his clientele of mainly middle-aged men evolve to include teenagers of all ages and young adults too! Customers praise ‘Joe’s Albums’ for the great selection of products, reasonable pricing, and the reliable shipping when using the online store. They appreciate the organization, the friendliness, and the ability Demers possesses to be able to inform his customers about his products.
