Mendon

If you were a wealthy family at the turn of the century - Lake Nipmuc Park in Mendon Massachusetts, also known as “Nature’s Beauty Spot,” would have been your posh summer destination. In the 70’s, you could have caught Aerosmith’s very first concert, or an Ike and Tina Turner show in the lakeside ballroom. Today, you can still enjoy the clear pristine waters of Lake Nipmuc, and dine lakeside at the old ballroom, now named the Imperial Ballroom. Mendon is also home to Southwick’s Zoo - the largest zoo in New England, and the Mendon Twin Drive-Through, one of only three driven theaters left in the state.
