Shrewsbury

With a population of approximately 35,600, Shrewsbury is the second largest municipality in Worcester County, following its neighbor the City of Worcester. Lake Quinsigamond, which borders Shrewsbury to the west is one of the country’s premier rowing venues, home to the 2012 and 2016 U.S. Masters Rowing Championships, as well as a valuable natural resource for the residents of Shrewsbury and beyond.  The former Spags property is currently being redeveloped into Lakeway Commons, a mixed use development anchored by Whole Foods, 250 rental apartments and 13 townhouses and will be open for business in late summer 2017.  Ski Ward is a small ski hill in Shrewsbury that provides skiing and tubing in the winter and various activities in the summer.
