Music Worcester presents the renowned Baroque orchestra Apollo's Fire in lovely Tuckerman Hall on Sunday, March 24, 2018 at 4 PM. PROGRAM Bach - Brandenburg Concerti No.'s 4 & 5 Telemann - Burlesque de Quixote Vivaldi - Sonata for Violins "Follia" 25 years ago, Apollo’s Fire “burst on the scene with dazzling style” (THE PLAIN DEALER). Four European tours and 24 CD releases later, Apollo’s Fire has played to sold-out crowds in New York, Boston, Washington, San Francisco, Madrid, Bordeaux, the Tanglewood Festival and the BBC Proms in London…. The musicians of Apollo’s Fire are early music artists drawn from an international pool of period-instrument specialists. Gathering in Cleveland from across North America and Europe, these musicians share a common artistic vision, shaped by Artistic Director Jeannette Sorrell’s commitment to baroque music as a form of emotional communication. Ms. Sorrell invites musicians according to the specialized repertoire and instrumentation of each program. Many of these artists have been playing with Apollo’s Fire for nearly 20 years, but some of them appear only in program(s) that correspond to their instrument and/or specialty.
