The Worcester Men of Song is a Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Our Chapter was founded in 1949 and has been performing throughout the Worcester County area continuously for the past sixty years. The chorus and quartets visit area communities presenting the four-part, close harmony "a Capella" style of singing called barbershop. Barbershop is uniquely American, tracing its roots back to the early 1800's ... most probably originating in barbershops. (Honestly!) The Men of Song chorus travels the "Northeastern District" twice a year competing with other choruses from throughout New England, northern New York and Canadian maritime province area. It has often been said that "the Men of Song open the Worcester area Christmas Season each year with their Annual Show at Mechanics Hall."
