About Shakespeare on the Common

Shakespeare's Julius Caesar will take place on the Worcester Common throughout the month of August. It is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to wear togas and engage in the acting with “boos” and “woos.” COVID-19 safety guidelines will be enforced. The Hanover Theatre Repertory (THT Rep) performance is brought to you by The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts in partnership with the City of Worcester and support from the Worcester Downtown Business Improvement District.

All shows are free and open to the public as a gift to the community, subsidized by The Hanover’s generous sponsors. Together, they want to recognize the extraordinary support received throughout the pandemic while offering a safe way for people to connect through the experience of the performing arts. You can reserve your seats here, though walk-ups are welcome.

About When in Worcester

When in Worcester features an itinerary of exclusive offers and a sweepstakes so you can make the most of your trips to Downtown Worcester. When in Worcester is brought to you by the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District, in partnership with The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts and the City of Worcester, and supported in part by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism.
