July 4, 2018

Take a visit to the living history museum in Sturbridge Massachusetts this Fourth of July and see how the holiday was celebrated in the 19th century. March in a citizen's parade, play 19th century baseball, march with the militia, and have the kids make a tri-cornered hat or sign a giant copy of the Declaration of Independence. All the modern day festivities will be available too like summer BBQ food and beer and wine for a picnic on the Common. But that's not all - play farm yard games, see the firing of an old cast-iron cannon and much more! +discover

John Adams declared that the signing of the Declaration of Independence should warrant a "Great Anniversary Festival" that included "Bonfires and Illuminations" from coast to coast, from now until forever. So every year since 1777 we celebrate with festive fireworks celebrations to honor America's Independence.
