Fun Pet Festival Comes to Central Massachusetts
"They can't talk, so we will" - that's the motto of the annual Pet Rock Fest that happens in Central Massachusetts each September.
By pairing animal rights groups with family fun and entertainment; the Pet Rock Festival hopes to reach a wide range of people and spread awareness about kindness to animals, while also raising funds for charitable organizations.
Festivities:
- Live music
- Owner-Dog look alike contest
- Vegetarian food court
- Dog agility course
- Pet massages
- Hundreds of nonprofit animal welfare groups on-site
- Bobo the Clown making animal balloons
- Air Frisbee dog performances
- Amateur Dog Show with prizes!
Proceeds go to a worthy cause - to charities that support a wide range of causes from shelters to farm animal sanctuaries. Have fun with your pet while giving back too! This year the event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 12 PM to 5 PM at Becker College on its Leicester Campus. There is plenty of parking and the venue is right off Route 9.
Richard French, dean of Animal Studies and allerton chair of Animal Health Sciences at Becker College had this to say about the event:
“This festival, which promotes animal care and helps give pets a voice, resonates with our educational mission and core value of teaching social responsibility. This partnership will be rewarding not only for the students enrolled in our animal studies program, but for the entire Central Massachusetts community of pet owners and those interested in the health and welfare of animals.”
