In celebration of the U.S. Luge Team’s nine medal winning season, a free community skate night at The Worcester Common Oval is sponsored hosted by Saint-Gobain of Worcester.
Admission to skate is free. Bring your own skates, or rent for $3 with a $25 refundable skate deposit.
Members of the U.S. Luge Team will be at the Worcester Common Oval for a luge demonstration and exhibition. Former Olympic luge athletes, including 1998 Olympic Luge Doubles Silver Medalist Gordy Sheer will be joining the team.

Schedule for the Evening:
- 5 to 5:45 p.m. - Public skate
- 6 to 6:15 p.m. - Luge demonstration/exhibition
- 6:15 to 8 p.m. - Public Skate resumes & meet the U.S. Luge team on the plaza overlooking the Oval

Norton Luge Challenge Jan. 7
Please also join us for the Norton Luge Challenge at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area this Saturday, January 7 or Sunday, January 8. Learn the basics of accelerating, steering, and stopping; take practice runs on a recreational version of a luge sled down a track with curves and timing equipment and meet USA Luge Olympians, international medalists and coaches. The Luge experience is open to adults and children (age 10 & older).
