American Heritage Museum 

Visitors to the American Heritage Museum learn and discover by interacting with heritage through history, changing technology and America’s fight to preserve freedom. The museum explores major historic conflicts, ranging from the Revolutionary War to today, and boasts one of the world’s largest collections of armored vehicles and tanks, which are displayed in specialized dioramas and exhibits. With interest-based catered tours and a daily scavenger hunt, kiddos learn through focused (and fun) education.

As an immersive museum concept, the EcoTarium marries indoor and outdoor learning opportunities to inspire a passion for scientific and nature-based education. With science programs, a digital planetarium, live animal habitats, nature trails and a fully packed outdoor exhibit (with areas for digging, building, climbing and crawling) the EcoTarium is a rare local gem for engaging even the pickiest of crowds. You can even take a train ride during your visit!

Samuel Slater, considered by some as the “Father of the American Industrial Revolution,” is at the forefront of bringing this area’s rich industrial history to life. 

Worcester Art Museum 

Internationally known for its collection of European and American art, Worcester Art Museum (WAM) is home to a collection of 37,500 pieces spanning 51 centuries. With art carts, touch carts, hands-on activities and programs, WAM is an ideal spot for wintertime wonderment. Pro tip: Families and visitors of all ages can visit for free on the first Sunday of each month, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
