The Central Mass Jazz Fest host Worcester Art Museum providing origami lessons, strolling entertainer Magician Steve Craig, Art Teacher Darcy Schwartz conducting improve painting fun, throughout the day, soak up the sun, and kick back to enjoy world class artists play through the day.
3. Dance
This is your chance to get up and dance. You’ll be in good company, we promise.
4. Listen
Enjoy international and regional celebrity jazz giants. Never before has Worcester hosted this level of jazz talent on one stage on one day. The roster includes Steve Kirby, Fernando Holz, Greg Abate, Amanda Carr, Dave Frank, Isocole Up Trio, Jazzed Up Trio, Mike Renzi, Jim Porcella, Pamela Hines, and more.
5. Relax
Celebrate the start of summer outdoors in beautiful Cristoforo Colombo Park. Snap a photo of your family between the two stone griffins that mark the park’s entrance and find a sweet spot in the amphitheater to watch the show.
6. Shop
Explore a variety of artists’ booths and bring home a few tokens from the day to keep the memories alive.
7. Eat
Enjoy the fruits of restaurant row. Shrewsbury Street is teeming with life in the summer months. Stop for fried chicken at simjang, Neopolitan pizza at Volturno, fried pickles at Flying Rhino, or kabobs at Pomir Grill.
8. Learn
Enjoy a Jazz Clinic by Dave Frank, director of the Dave Frank School of Jazz in midtown Manhattan.
9. Play
The Jazz Fest is a family event. Bring the kids and let them loose on Shrewsbury Street’s state-of-the-art playground. It’s never too early to begin assembling Worcester’s next generation of jazz lovers.
10. Donate
You’ll have a low stakes opportunity to give back to the community. Support the Worcester County Food Bank and those who depend on it by providing a non perishable food item upon entering the park.
