City of Worcester to host a spectacular evening of fun, patriotic music and fireworks in celebration of Independence Day!

There is no better way to celebrate America’s birthday than to savor the summer air, while listening to the sounds of popular and patriotic music and watching a rousing display of fireworks. Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at East Park, in Worcester.
The park opens at 3 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to grab a spot early for pre-festivities. Refreshments such as cold drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers, and ice cream are available, as well as kids’ activities and games.
The celebration will officially begin with a ceremonial flag-raising at 7:40 p.m., followed by a music performance.
The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce plays a major role in coordinating the fireworks by bringing together area businesses and in partnership with the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Cemetery Division.
“This event brings more than 30,000 people into the city of Worcester, giving a boost to area businesses and showcasing all that Worcester has to offer,” said Timothy Murray, president and CEO, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “We look forward to partnering with the city of Worcester on this event each year.”
