Pianist Garrick Ohlsson, pianist Simone Dinnerstein, the acclaimed Symphony Orchestra from Sweden's Helsingborg, and the Weimar Symphony Orchestra are all headed to Mechanics Hall in coming months courtesy of Music Worcester. Feb. 15 - Jun. 3 / Sacred Ukrainian Textiles / Clinton

Rushnyk: Sacred Ukrainian Textiles sets out to explore Ukrainian culture through an ancient and valued tradition. Rushnyks are long, rectangular cloths, often woven in a solid piece from linen or hemp. Visitors can admire the bright and intricate patterns of rushnyks on display beginning in February at The Museum of Russian Icons +discover 

Mar. 4 / Peter and the Wolf - Free Family Concert / Worcester

The musical fairy tale of the little boy who, with the help of a bird, a duck and a cat, outsmarted the big, bad wolf, is a favorite introduction to classical music for kids of all ages. Worcester Chamber Music Society musicians will perform the piece with narrator extraordinaire Rohan Gregory. In conjunction with Youth Art Month, drawings created by Worcester Public School students will be projected above the musicians to compliment the storytelling. Following the performance, the children are invited to meet the musicians and see the instruments up close. +discover

Palettes available for purchase until February 23rd and on display from March 9-April 27 at the Spaulding R. Aldrich Heritage Gallery. Simple wooden art palettes transform into works of art for a friendly competition at The Heritage Gallery. Cash prizes will be awarded in three age categories. +discover 

Mar. 10-Jun. 3 / The Mystery of Worcester's Leonardo / Worcester 

Worcester Art Museum will be welcoming a new exhibit in March. This exhibit will reunite two early Italian panel paintings since they were seperated from their orginal altar: the Annunciation at the Musée du Louvre and WAM's Miracle of San Donato. These paintings are sure to provoke thoughtful conversation and civil debates about the mindset of the young Leonardo and the Renaissance era.  +discover

The Salisbury Singers will present a celebration of cantatas 17, 93, and 111 by J. S. Bach, accompanied by the Bach Consort of Worcester, which will also perform Bach’s famous concerto for oboe and violin in the recently renovated sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church. +discover
